Dancer, DJ and vinyl collector Deb Joy hailing from Nottingham, has been actively on the underground music and club scene since the late 70s.
Music has been in her DNA from as far back as she can remember , influenced by her father playing jazz , blues , Motown , reggae & her brother playing northern soul early Philly & funk .. The start of her real journey happened when her brother took her to the Nottingham Palais ( Mecca) northern soul allayer. She wondered downstairs into the Bali hi where the sounds of Philly , funk and jazz breaks . she found her musical home .She never looked back , travelling the length and breadth of the country in her pursuit of music & dance…
She earned her stripes as part of the team at the legendary Rock City in Nottingham putting on the regular Friday night gigs with some the top artists and Dj’s of that time as well as the all day events .
In recent years, she started her Journey behind the decks raising the vibe for the crowds at gigs such as:
